Speeding Bmw Hit Elderly Man, Locals Block Traffic Packers Movers News

New Delhi, Apr 8 (PTI) An elderly man on a morning walk was run over by a speeding BMW in east Delhi today with his family alleging that he bled to death as police did not rush him to hospital promptly. Angry over the incident, locals rushed to the accident spot and blocked traffic affecting vehicular movement on Vikas Marg and arterial stretches.

The traffic movement on the stretch was disrupted till noon. Om Dutt Chauhan (62) was taking a walk near the Akshardham chowk when the BMW, which was trying to overtake a motorcycle, hit him at around 6:30 am, a senior police official said.

Chauhan resides in nearby Pandav Nagar. The car, driven by Raman Singhla (27), overturned due to the impact.

There were two others in the car and Raman, son of a Karkardooma-based businessman Baburam Singhla, was arrested. A case of culpable homicide and rash and negligent driving has been registered against him.

Relatives and eye-witnesses alleged that Chauhan was not rushed to hospital by police and he lay bleeding on the spot for about 30 minutes. The nephew of the deceased Sandeep Chauhan alleged that his uncle was not immediately taken to hospital.

"Police took the BMW occupants to police station first and then took my uncle to hospital. If they had taken prompt action, my uncle would have been saved, " he claimed.

Rajesh, an eye-witness, also echoed similar views and said Chauhan was conscious and police took 30 minutes to take him to hospital. "He could have been saved if police had taken him to hospital in time, " Rajesh added.

Angry locals damaged the BMW, blocked traffic and shouted slogans. Senior police officials, including Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police I B Rani visited the spot and tried to pacify the locals.

How much longer before non-OWS citizens get feed up and react in kind? (Non-law enforcement)?
OWS is blocking traffic, disrupting businesses, making it un safe for everyone, keeping people from getting to work and so on.. Do these OWS'tards know they are only hurting the people they claim to represent? How can you take them seriously? They quite their jobs to go protest the lack of jobs in our economy or whine about big business while using their cell phones, lap tops and so on?

Why not occupy a military base?
You want to get a message to the government then prevent the greatest fighting force from going to work. Heck you might get some to join you when they get off duty. Or if you just want to protest and not block traffic stand outside the fence and ask why they fight for the government that does nothing for them. Outside the base. And they do what the government says without question. Why not? If you can get some of the soldiers, sailors, airmen etc to join you after work then it would be a huge victory wouldn't it? The military is 1% of the US population

Question for OWS protesters?
In all seriousness. What makes you think blocking traffic, and living in parks will change anything? And what revolution are you talking about? Do you not realize it would take FAR larger numbers than you have now?
