Internet Traffic Monitoring

Before you can browse the internet with ease and comfort, you need to install internet traffic monitoring tools in your computer. And why did we say so? You may not know it, but by just "innocently" purchasing something online, you can be putting your welfare and the life of your family in danger. Cyberthieves and their spywares are all over the internet, mind you. Who knows? You and you're family might be their next victims. But don't worry, majority of internet traffic monitoring tools are free and are readily available for download on the internet.

And this would be extra easier for you if you're a Windows user. You can try visiting NMTF tools (that's the first site that'll appear in your Google search). You can find all the basic internet traffic tools you need here.

If you're particularly more into downloading/uploading files on the internet, we recommend NetBalancer. With NetBalancer installed in your computer, you'll be able to browse internet comfortably even while your download manager or torrent client is downloading huge files. This Windows software can be used to set download/upload transfer rate priority for any applications and monitor their internet traffic.

Linux users also have a fair share of traffic monitoring freewares on the internet. One is MZL & Novatech Traffic Statistics Linux Server 1.2.0.0. This software, which is a freeware by the way (as we've already mentiones), delivers network usage data for Linux gateways. What's good about it is it generates from libpcap IP data record files containing network usage information in bytes broken down by host and service with a minute precision.

Is there a program to monitor Internet traffic (upload/download) by the clock like in zonealarm.?
Hello Everybody, I just got a custom pc with Norton Internet Security 2007 on it. I must say that i already miss my Zonealarm firewall that i had on my other pc. I espicially miss the traffic monitor that was on the taskbar by the clock that showed internet traffic. Since i'm still using dial up (will be getting high speed soon) it's nice to know if something is downloading and/or uploading behind the scenes. Does anyone know of a software program that will monitor internet traffic and will sit in the taskbar when minimized? Thank you for your time and suggestions ahead of time. Sincerely Jason
